SAINT SHADYSIDE
Saint Shadyside is a hypothetical menswear store that I created to help define "midwest style."
Growing up in Ohio, I always struggled to define what midwestern style is. I've always felt that every other geographic location in America has a distinct style (California "Surfwear," NYC and East Coast style, Western Style, Southern Prep, etc). The Midwest seems to be a hodgepodge of every style and evades concrete definition.
But here I am trying to define it.
Within the mood boards and style guides featured below, I blended the themes of rustbelt nostalgia, farming heritage, suburban/urban life, and the urge to move away from the midwest and explore new places. I hope these projects help illuminate and define "Midwestern Style"
Enjoy.
